This free campground is provided by the Wentworth Shire Council and is also where the boat ramp is located. Once you have arrived in Mildura, , take the mighty Abbotsford Bridge, which is a vertical lift bridge over the Murray River, to Wentworth. Just like that, you have crossed the border into NSW.

- Cost: FREE
- Facilities: None at the campground; guests must be self-contained.
- Toilets, Potable Water, and Bins are available at lock 10, just a short walk away.
- Walking trails around historic Wentworth
Here you will find an amazing town with a fabulous supermarket, an interesting hotel, and all the other stores you may need for supplies.
As you arrive at at lock 10 and weir you will find the junction point between the Darling and Murray Rivers. Directly opposite the lock there is a toilet block, this is where you can fill your water tanks with potable water.

From here, you will head towards the lagoon. If you follow the brown tourist sign to the right, you will reach Thegoa Lagoon. However, camping is not allowed in this area. So, until you are properly set up, ignore that sign and continue straight ahead towards the sign for the boat ramp, and then turn left there. The first campsite to the left is suitable for bigger rigs and has a good turning point for caravans (this is where we camped). If you go to the right, there are several fabulous spots nestled amongst the trees. Unfortunately, this area is currently closed due to high river flow and flooding.

We really love this campground. It’s peaceful but at the same time beautiful, especially with all the lovely big red river gum trees. Plus, Wentworth and the surrounding areas are quite diverse and make for a great day or days of exploring.
